Growing up in Florida made it possible for me to discover a new and fascinating playground that did not contain slides, swings or monkey bars. It was under the surface of our inland waterways that I played. A cheap dive mask from the PX on my Dad's Coast Guard base was all I needed to think I was one of Captain Nemo's crew searching for things not yet seen by man.

At the age of ten I bought a single band arbalete speargun from the same PX and started another adventure. Docks, piers and bridges were all just a short bike ride away. This became my own private hunting sanctuary. Sheepshead, filefish, spadefish and snappers all became fair game. The excitement and challenge of hunting a fish under the water, in it's own environment with just a lung full of air, was addictive.

As I grew into my teens so did my love of underwater hunting. I honed my skills on the inshore reefs with many a grouper and snapper falling prey to my spear. Diving on the offshore deep reefs, hunting bigger prey, soon followed. Forty five years later I still enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

This love of the outdoors whether diving for lobster in the Keys, hunting blue water species or grouper on the reef has been passed on to my two sons and now my three grandchildren. RealSea Inc. is a business created out of our desire to continue giving back to the outdoor recreational activities we all enjoy.

Hunting, fishing and many other outdoor activities are under attack from outside groups. The only way to counter their efforts are to continue building a strong and profitable outdoor recreational industry. Our future generations use of the outdoors as we enjoy today depend on it.
